Magenta Line Metro
The Magenta Line metro is a rapid transit system that provides an alternative route for connecting the Noida region with western Delhi via south Delhi. The DMRC has planned the metro route between Botanical Garden in Noida city and Janakpuri in Delhi. These two stations are already linked with the Blue Line of Delhi Metro. Therefore the magenta line metro routes took over the heavy load from the Blue line route by giving the fastest source for getting across the NCR, without crossing central Delhi and Rajiv Chowk and Mandi House.
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has finished the structural design work for a four-kilometer long viaduct from Majlis Park to Bhalswa Metro Station. This area is a part of the 29 km Janakpuri West to RK Ashram Marg passageway under Delhi metro phase – 4. The passageways are considered as an extension of the magenta line and it is expected to be operational by March 2026.
It was expected to be operational by September 2025 but the deadline has been extended to 2026. Therefore a total number of 22 new shops will be included in the line after Janakpuri West. On 27th December the Noida Metro Rail Corporation gave approval for the detailed project report for the proposed section – 142 to Botanical Garden metro station.
