Orange line metro
The orange line of Delhi Metro is known as one of the rapid transit systems in Delhi, India. This metro line contains seven active stations of the Delhi metro network, and the main operator of the Delhi Metro Orange line is the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). The orange line of the metro station is made to serve the people of Delhi, and it is popularly known as the Airport Express line, which was the first line in the Delhi metro constructed with a public-private partnership, and it was intended to be operated privately. This line is one of the most important lines because it connects with many other places in Delhi.
The Orange line runs at a speed of 120 km/h, which makes it a very fast metro line in Delhi and provides 15 minutes of travel from New Delhi to Indira Gandhi International Airport. Passengers especially use this line for a fast travel experience and to easily reach their desired destination. The elevated part of the Orange Line was constructed over eight busy roadways that carry a heavy volume of traffic, including the Ring Road, National Highway 48, Sardar Patel Marg, and Ridge Road.
In September 2018, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation decided to introduce a QR code-based ticketing facility for passengers so that they can travel without any issues on the Orange line. This system allows commuters to buy tickets using a mobile app known as Ridlr without physically coming to the metro station. The Airport Express Line stations have even decided to have QR-enabled entry and exit doors for passengers.
The Airport Express line is also famous because many celebrities have used this metro line to promote their movies (e.g-Jannat-2 and Ra.one, etc.).
This line provides facilities for disabled people who are in wheelchairs. All the stations that are linked with the Airport Express line are safe and secure, and they contain CCTV cameras that show live images of the station control room, operational control center, and security control room.
